Reference Service

The reference staff will only be too happy to assist you in accessing information, using the online catalogue, and locating materials at the library. Library tours and instruction are available by appointment for interested groups.

You may send us reference questions through e-mail at scugogref@powergate.ca. Our staff will make every effort to answer your questions within 3 business days.

Internet Access

The library has 6 Internet workstations using Compton's Powergate cable Internet service. Users can access to the job bank from Service Canada.

The library wishes to acknowledge the support of Industry Canada and the Ministry of Culture through the Community Access Program as well as Service Canada for the creation of the Internet Centre.

Our computers are licensed with Microsoft Office 2000 making resume creation easy. All computer printing is $0.25 per page.

Exam Proctoring

The Scugog Memorial Public Library offers an exam proctoring service. Arrangements can be made by telephoning the CEO at 905-985-7686. Be sure to have details of the Institution’s requirements. Dates can be arranged according to availability of space and schedules. The cost is $25.00 per exam.

Children's Programs

There are several children's programs during the spring and fall. Contact the library for details on registration and available space.

Preschool Storytime / Parent n' Tot Storytime

The storytime encourages children to participate in a library program. The children enjoy books, songs, and other activities in a 30-minute session that focuses on a special theme each week.

Tech for Tots

The library offers pre-school (3-5 year olds) computer classes. The children learn basic computer skills using various educational games and computer software.
