Customer-focused decisions - The customer, as a taxpayer, has a very real leading role in the Library's scope and direction. We believe it is our responsibility to listen to feedback and use our connection with the community and knowledge of larger service trends to ensure that our customers receive the best return on their investment. We are here to listen and support the needs and interests of our community. We make every effort to ensure convenience for our customers by providing hours of operation, loan periods and online access options that are flexible enough to suit a wide range of needs. We are also committed to accessibility and equitable access for everyone.

Adaptable and innovative decisions - In a world of constantly shifting technology and trends. It is our role to remain responsive and vital by ensuring that both our collections and our services are up-to-date and relevant to our community. Whether on-site or online, we will play an active role in connecting our customers to friends, colleagues and the full range of potential within both their local and global communities.

The promotion of literacy, life-long learning and enrichment - As a community service to all ages and life stages, we strive to support our customers by providing an atmosphere and variety of materials that will allow them to expand their knowledge and explore cultural and personal landscapes through a variety of media: books, audio books, music, software, film and art. We understand that to properly fulfill this mandate, we must provide equal support for leisure, self-improvement, educational and social interests. In addition to our collections, we provide services such as wireless access, public computer use and meeting room space.

The library as a regular 'hub' or destination and an integral part of the community - The trend for public libraries is away from the static, institutional storage facility of the past. We embrace the new role of community hub and try to provide a safe, positive, comfortable and inviting environment for customers. We believe in the library as the place where the community can meet to explore interests, meet friends, attend programs and events for all ages and interests. We strive to create a balance that will allow all of these activities to take place in an environment where all ages are respected and welcomed. We understand that our community deserves the best customer service that it is within our power to deliver, and that current library trends aim to move beyond bricks and mortar to provide an experience for their customers that will enhance their enjoyment of facilities and services and ensure they become lifelong patrons and advocates of the public library. We will strive to create and maintain partnerships and strong relationships with community stakeholders to ensure that our role is understood and valued within the community.
