SUMMER READING CLUB!
Get ready for a Summer full of adventure with the TD Summer Reading Club!

Travel to exotic lands, explore tropical environments and embark on an adventure of discovery with this year's TD Summer Reading Club theme "Destination Jungle"!


Registration Begins on Friday, June 25th at 10 am, but you can sign up any time after that date.  You can participate in any way you'd like.  You can join us each week for reading club programs or read on your own and report in at the library. 

This year we're offering a drop-in on Wednesday afternoons where you can report on what you've read and score points for your team.

If you are a fan of spooky stories, join us for Campfire Nights every Thursday in July! You can listen to great terrifying tales, or share some scary stories of your own! Check out the schedule below for all our great activities throughout the summer.

Summer Club Kids' Programs

Summer Reading Club Theme Activities
If you have joined our summer reading club, you can also take part in some fun activities throughout the summer (July 2nd to August 13th).

Senior Club (Ages 7 to 10)
When: Mondays from 10:30-11:30 am OR Tuesdays from 2:00-3:00 pm
(Closed August 2nd for Civic Holiday)

Junior Club (Ages 4 to 6)

When: Mondays from 2:00-3:00 pm am OR Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 am
(Closed August 2nd for Civic Holiday)

Bored Games
Thursdays 2 to 4 pm from July 2-August 13th

Campfire Nights
Thursdays 7 to 8 pm July Only (Closed July 1st for Canada Day)
 
SRC Wrap Up Party
Friday, August 13th from 1 to 3 pm.
Join us for food and fun to celebrate a summer of reading!
Summer Kids' Flicks

Movie tickets are $2 each and are available a week in advance of the film.  Children 10 an under must be accompanied by an adult.

Our Early Literacy Programs Continue this Summer!
Kent Farndale Gallery logoParent 'n' Tot  
Bring your little one for songs, stories and movement activities in this fast-paced, fun-filled half-hour program.  For 1 to 3 year olds.
When: 11:15 to 11:45 am
Session 1: Wednesdays or Thursdays
(July 7th to 29th)
Session 2: Tuesdays or Wednesdays (September 14th to October 6th)


Preschool Storytime         
Children ages 3 to 5 will enjoy a 45 minute session  featuring exciting and educational literacy activities. Join us for stories, songs and take-home crafts.
When: 10:30 to 11:15 am
Session 1: Wednesdays or Thursdays
(July 7th to 29th)
Session 2: Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (September 14th to October 7th)


Babytime
Babytime will break for the summer, but we'll be back in September with this great program designed just for babies (newborn to 18 months) and their parents or care-givers. Learn new songs, rhymes and bounces you can share with your baby at home! Older siblings are welcome to come along - they can even bring a doll or a stuffed toy and join in the fun.
When: 11:15 to 11:45 am
Session 1: Thursdays (September 16th to October 7th)


Tech for Tots  
This unique program for 3 to 5 year olds teaches the basics of computer skills through child-friendly, educational web-sites.

When: 10:00 to 10:30 am
Session 1:
Wednesdays or Thursdays (July 7th to 29th)
Session 2: Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (September 14th to October 7th)

Check out our newest online resource - Downloadable Audiobooks from Overdrive!
We are happy to announce that we are now offering a collection of downloadable audiobooks for our customers. You can use this service from home or in the Library.

You will need to download the Overdrive Media Console the first time you use the system, but this only has to be done once. you can use the Media Console to listen to books on your computer, or you can transfer them to another listening device.

Questions? Visit the download centre website for online tutorials, or simply ask at the Information Desk at the Library - we'd be happy to help you in using this great new resource.
