Library facilities and materials are open to all members of the public. To ensure that the experience is pleasant to all, we ask that you abide by the following:
- Do not damage, misuse, or steal of library materials, equipment or property.
- Library staff may ask to inspect the contents of any packages, bags, or cases.
- Any behaviour that disrupts or hinders Public use of the library is prohibited.
The includes but is not limited to loud or boisterous behaviour, verbal or physical harassment, running or screaming.
- Library staff will issue a warning for unacceptable behaviour.
- After a warning is issued and there is no response, the police will be called.
- In any extreme or threatening situation, the police will be called immediately.
- Cellular phone conversations should be conducted in the lobby. All other conversations should be limited to a noise level that does not disturb others.
- Smoking, eating or drinking are not allowed in the library.
- The Library Board is not responsible for personal items lost or stolen in the building.
- Shoes and shirts must be worn in the library. Wet bathing suits are not allowed in the building.
- Animals, except seeing eye dogs, are not allowed in the building.
- Roller-skates and skateboards are not allowed in the building.
- Power-assisted door switches should only be used when necessary.
