Library cards are non-transferable. Notify the Library at once if your card is lost. Current identification is required to obtain a card. DVDs, Music CDs, Feature and Children's video loans require an Adult card. There is a charge of $2.50 for replacing a lost card.
Any personal information collected from library users will only be used for library purposes such as requesting library materials or sending out overdue notices. Scugog Memorial Public Library will share personal information with other libraries with which we have reciprocal borrowing agreements.
The Library Board protects personal information but also cooperates with legal authorities.

All DVDs, Videos and Music CDs are for home-use only.
Reference books and items in the Local History Collection do not circulate.

If an item is checked out, the library user may place a reserve on that item (except for DVDs, Feature and Children's Videos). The library will contact the patron when the item is available.
Renewals for borrowed material can be done online or at the circulation desk with your library card. There are no telephone renewals. Items cannot be renewed if another patron has placed a hold request.
A $1.00 fine per printed overdue notice is charged for accounts without e-mail.

Borrowing privileges will be suspended when an individual's fines exceed $10.00. Accumulated fines over $20.00 may be sent to a collection agency.
Charges are assessed for damaged materials. Other charges will be assessed as follows:
The patron will pay the full replacement cost if the disc is cracked or if the item is no longer suitable for circulation.
A lost item that is found and returned to the library within 12 months after payment can receive a refund (minus the fine) upon showing their receipt. The returned item must be in useable condition.
