Kent Farndale
is and enthusiastic
benefactor and supporter
of the arts and strongly
believes in community
involvement. She grew
up in Port Perry, and after
careers in Toronto and
Edmonton as a schoolteacher
and with the TD Bank,
Mrs. Farndale served as Chair
of the Board and Director for the
Community Memorial Hospital
in Port Perry.
For seven years she was Director for Town Hall 1873, which is a cultural centre for the performing arts in the Township of Scugog. Mrs. Farndale was a charter member of the Scugog Choral Society and since 1987 is an active volunteer member of the Ontario Crafts Council. She established and curated the art gallery at the Scugog Memorial Library for ten years beginning in 1982. When she retired, the gallery was named after her in appreciation of her achievements. Her volunteer activities have been recognized by numerous awards, including a Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary International, the Lescarbot Award from the Government of Canada, and the Canada 125 Medal from the Governor General of Canada. |
